What are ways to be considerate and less selfish overall to save my relationship with my boyfriend?

I have become incredibly rude to the person I love most, I need to change for him. He has stayed with me through so much pain I have caused him. I want to be able to take care of him and consider him in my everyday life, but my thinking has become selfish lately and it has steered me away from helping him. How can I show him I care for him and I’ll be there for him when he needs me, when my word has always fallen through?

  1. First of all, one of the first sentences after your question, you say "I need to change for him". Changing for anyone other than yourself is never, ever a successful idea. You either change for yourself or do not bother at all. Changing for someone else never lasts because you are doing it for the wrong reason to begin with. You need to change your ways. Not only for him, but for your quality of life and for everyone who is subjected to your bitchiness.

You have become untrustworthy as far as your word is concerned. If you want to gain respect, you have to do what you say and say what you do. Honesty goes a long way for creditability. Try it, you’ll see.
